Be there for the next Tummy Talks.

A storytelling night about our guts. We sit in a warm room with a cup of bone broth in our hands and share the stories we usually keep to ourselves. It's about being honest about what our bodies go through, not about fixing anything.

Spots are limited. Leave your email and we'll tell you as soon as the next one is announced. It also saves your place on the Gigi waiting list, for when she's ready for you.

Yep, we only have one mailing list.

  • People who get it

A room of people who know what it's like, and nobody telling you to just relax.

Meet the storytellers

The voices of our first Tummy Talks, on 6 October at Wanakam in Amsterdam.

Meet our storytellers

Meet our storyteller Helene Choo. Helene spent years treating her body as the problem. Her story is about what it was really doing in the week before her period, and what changed once she stopped reading those days as proof that something was wrong with her. She now runs Moon Quest, a cycle-aware app and guided journal for people with PMS, PMDD and PME. moonquest.app

Meet our storyteller Shakhnoza Cetintas. From IBS, reflux and gastritis to becoming a Naturopathic Nutrition Therapist. After 14 years as a lawyer, mostly in international criminal courts, Shakhnoza now trains at the College of Naturopathic Medicine and helps people find the root cause of their health issues through lab testing, nutrition, lifestyle changes and natural remedies. @weareholisticbeings

Meet our storyteller Rafaela Buena. Founder of Gigi. After three decades of bloating, pain and fatigue, and years of tests and guesses, she was finally diagnosed with celiac disease and dairy intolerance. She built Gigi as the companion she wished she'd had: someone who listens, remembers and helps you see the pattern sooner. @rafas.gut

Why I started Tummy Talks

For three decades I lived with bloating, pain and fatigue, and I hardly ever talked about it. There was nowhere to put it. You laugh it off, you plan your outfit around it, and you say you're fine.

When I finally started talking about it, my friends did too. They texted me at 10 p.m. about their stomachs, and I realised how many of us were carrying a story we'd never told anyone.

There's so much silence around our guts. We had places to talk about almost everything else, but a space like this didn't exist. So I made one: a warm room, a cup of bone broth, and people who get it, telling the stories we usually keep to ourselves.

Nobody there is going to fix you. You just won't be the only one anymore.

Past Tummy Talks

No. 1, we said it out loud

06 October 2026 · Wanakam, Amsterdam

Our very first Tummy Talks. Nine women took the storytelling seat and said the things they had only ever told a doctor, or no one at all. Nobody tried to fix anyone. We listened, we laughed, and we all left a little lighter.

Tummy Talks, we said it out loud. Nine women who took the storytelling seat, in a grid. We all have carried our gut stories alone, in silence. Until this day.
A storyteller in a headwrap and glasses, smiling, one hand open as she speaks from the chair in pink light.
The things we never said. Storytelling without a script. A collage of storytellers in the chair and women listening from red cushions.
Out loud, finally. A storyteller in the chair, seen from behind. Being told it's just stress. Research built on male bodies, when ours run on a monthly cycle. The pill, antibiotics and what they leave behind in the gut. Histamine, yeast and celiac, and how a food condition becomes a social one. Moving countries, and your gut moving with you.
Two women hugging after the stories, one of them smiling over the other's shoulder.
The room in low light at the start of the evening, women settling in before the first story.
Thank you, Gigi team, storytellers and incredible partners: Bone Broth Mama, SAKco ferments, Lines & Lenses. The storytellers together on stage. Thank you for trusting us with your stories. And to everyone who took the storytelling seat: Helene, Shakhnoza, Yasmine, Sara, Albane, Nana, Gabby and Varsha.
“There is absolutely nothing wrong with you.” Rafaela Buena hosted the night, also sharing her own gut story. She reminded us that our bodies are different, and that's totally okay. We talk so we can listen better.
The hallway full of guests talking, cups of bone broth in their hands.
Warm bone broth by Bone Broth Mama. Four photos of Yasmine serving her broth and guests holding their cups.
Ferments by SAKCo. Four photos of SAKCo plating fermented tasters for the guests.
What stayed with us: we left lighter. One by one, women took the courage and said the things they had only ever told a doctor, or no one at all. The years of being told it's just stress. The shame. The relief of finally being believed. Nobody tried to fix anyone. We listened, we laughed, and we held each other.
Community, sharing knowledge and experiences. Two women talking over a cup of broth.
